Icheon City is a small yet thriving urban town located in the southeastern part of the Seoul Metropolitan Area with a population of 230,000.
As Korea's first UNESCO Creative City for Folk Crafts, we are collaborating with world-class cultural and artistic cities. Likewise, we are a city of specialty products, such as Imgeumnimpyo Icheon rice and pottery, Haessare peach, Sansuyu (Japanese cornelian cherry), and ginseng, which are rated as the best in the country.

Moreover, Icheon is an urban-rural complex where tradition and the future coexist. It is a high-tech industrial city centered on SK Hynix Inc. with all-direction transportation networks, including the Yeongdong-Jungbu Expressways, Gyeonggang Rail Line, and Jungbu Inland Railway.

Furthermore, Icheon is a charming cultural and tourist city whose natural beauty includes Seolbong Park, Sansuyu Village, Dodram Mountain, and Ceramic Art Village. The city also offers many themed experiences and festivals throughout the year, such as the four specialty product festivals and the Icheon rice meal.

When the Chungcheong Inland Railroad is completed by 2027 as a national project, Suseo-Icheon-Chungju-Mungyeong-Gimcheon-Geoje will be connected by a single line, and the high-speed Pyeongtaek-Icheon-Gangneung line will be promoted. Thus, in the future, Icheon City will grow rapidly as a central city that connects the east, west, and north of Korea and as a hub for rail transportation that extends to Eurasia after the reunification of Korea.

In the 8th local government established by popular election, I will focus on fostering high-tech industries based on semiconductors, creating quality jobs, providing inspiring welfare, fostering future talents, cultivating next-generation agriculture technologies, creating eco-friendly green cities, building a foundation for a more attractive cultural tourism city, and creating a convenient and safe urban environment without disparities.
