trends, the development progress of

exhibited during the World Expo of Ceramics
2005.
- The 4th World Ceramic Biennale was
held at the Icheon world ceramic center,

million people visited the center.

You can visit the ceramic workshop when
you visit Icheon, city of ceramics.
You can make your own ceramics such

Haegang ceramic art gallery was founded
by Gwang-Yeol Yu and his son to develop
and bring success to our traditional
ceramic culture.
It was founded to exhibit pieces of
ceramic remains, supply a variety of
academic activities and data and to
educate descendants for the development
of traditional culture.
405 celadons, 426 white porcelains,
9 black ceramics, 256 other ceramics,
89 grayish-blue-powdered celadons and
250 exhibition materials are displayed.

It was founded on 14th August 2007
to display the works of U-Sung Jang
(1912 - 2005), who has succeeded in
modern Korean art, and his collections
of Korean and overseas art works, which
are about 1,532 works.

cafeteria
and Woljeon memorial hall. |

| It was founded in Seolbong park to
satisfy cultural desire by supplying
a variety of knowledge and information.
It shows Icheon's history, culture,
folk customs and its tomorrow. It also
operates a number of exhibitions which
show the progress of agriculture from
ancient times until now. |

It was founded in 1564 to educate
confucian scholars with ancient sages
and it was closed in 1871 when the government
tried to close all memorial halls in
the country. The city of Icheon recovered
it in April 2007, 136 years after its
closure. The site covers an area of
6,612§³ and the building area is 300§³,
consisting of 9 buildings such as Daeseongjeon,
Dong?Seojae, Nae?Oesammun, etc.
Memorials of Hee Seo, Gwan-Ui Lee, An-Guk
Kim and Suk-Jeong Choi are located in
the memorial hall. |
