It is called Jeomyungsan. A son was
gathering Seoki mushrooms on a cliff
to cure his mother's disease when he
suddenly heard a wild boar so he climbed
back up and found out that his rope
was nearly cut off. Ever since then
it has been told that the mountain spirit
saved the son's life so it was called
Dotuleumsan (pig crying sound) then
later changed to Dodeuramsan.
Its height is 349m and its main ridges
are made of rocks so you can feel exhilarated
when climbing it. A complete view of
Icheon can be seen from the 3 peaks
near the highest peak. |

This is famous in Seolbong park.
Its area covers abnout 99174§³ and its
circumference is about 1.05km. A lot
of visitors exercise around the lake.
A rainbow can be seen when water spouts
80m into the air and famous artists
display their sculptures in Seolbong
International Sculpture Park.

three brothers rock |

If you climb for about 15 minutes
from the entrance of the mountain, you
may find three rocks in a row. Legend
has it that a long time ago three brothers
went out to find their mother and realized
that she was in danger with a tiger.
They then jumped off the cliff to save
their mother. At that instance they
became three rocks.

| Seolbong

| The fortress wall site
is located at the 7-8th ridge of Seolbongsan,
which is known as a fortress wall, built
by General Yu-Sin Kim for the reunification
of three kingdoms. It was an important
structure for military activity and
the local government. The remains, which
were found after 5 excavations, can
be seen at Icheon museum. |

| Sansuyu

Baeksa-myun, Icheon-si |

There are thousands of Sansuyu trees
ranging from 100 to 500 years old in
Dorip-ri and Gyeongsa-ri Baeksa-myun
Icheon-si. You can see yellow Sansuyu
flowers in March and April, which are
symbols of spring, and red fruits attract
tourists in October. There is Yukgoejung,
where the spirit of saints from the
Chosun dynasty dwell.

| Banryongsong |

The 381st natural heritage of Banryongsong
(pine tree) near Sansuyu village. It
is shaped like a dragon which is in
position just before flying into the
sky. Monk Dosun, who was a master of
the geomantic system in the late Shilla
dynasty, planted five trees at an ideal
spot and Banryongsong is known as one
of them.

| Anheungji
Aeryunjung |

Aeryunjung is located near Anheungji
(lake), which is located near Icheon
hot springs, and its exact foundation
period is now known. Se-Bo Lee built
it in 1466 and Suk-Ju Sin named it.
The city of Icheon recovered it in December
1998 and it is now loved by its citizens
as it is well in harmony with its surroundings,
such as Anheungji.

| Nosungsan

Nosungsan (mountain) is 310m high
and it offers sceneries of Gul, Byungpung
and Malmeori rock. There is an exercise
park at the entrance to the mountain
and many people visit there. You can
see Gamgok Chungbuk, Ansung, Iljuk,
Yeoju and Yangpyung on a clear day.
Malmeori rock, which is one of the 8
great scenic points of Icheon, is located
on the 7th ridge of Nosungsan.

ceramic art village |

| There is a ceramic art village in
Saeum-dong and Sandun-myeon, which represents
the ceramic industry of Icheon. Ceramic
craftsmen researched the production
method of Goryeo celadon and Chosun
white porcelain, which had not been
produced since the past. This has helped
Icheon to stand in the center of the
Korean ceramic industry. |
