| He was a diplomat and the civil minister
of Goryeo. When Kitan (a Chinese nation)
invaded Goryeo, he strongly disagreed
with the idea of giving Seogyeong (a
part of current North Korea) as reinforcement.
But he took the sovereign¢¥s message
directly to the enemy¢¥s general, So
Son Nyeong resolved the problem leading
to Kitan retreating. Later, he expelled
Yeojin (a Chinese nation) and kept the
areas of Pyeongbuk (current area¡¯s name). |

was born in February of 1823 in
Sanseong1-ri, Yul-myeon, Icheon-si,
Gyeonggi-do as a son of Eo Yong

Eo Jae Yeon is a hero of Icheon because
of his death. He fought to keep the
Yellow Sea when Goryeo was facing trouble
from the Western Countries.
He was a military commander of late
Joseon. He defended Gwangseongjin of
Ganghwa-do in Byeongin Yangyo (an invasion
by the French Navy) and Sinmi Yangyo
(an invasion by the U.S. Navy). |

He worked for the independence
movement when Korea was under
the control of the Japanese Government.

| Lee Su Heung¡¯s origin was Yeonan.
He was called Joaseong or Seongjo in
childhood. He was born in Jangjeon-dong
and graduated from Shanghai Military
Academy. He worked for a member of the
independent movement of the Manchuria
Governmental Army (a group in Manchuria
worked for the independence of Korea
from Japan). He came back to Korea in
1926 to attack Seoul Dongsomun Branch
Office and the Japanese Police Substation
in Hyeonbang-ri, Baeksa-myeon. He was
arrested and lynched as he worked for
making money for the independent movement
of Korea. |

| Chungsukgong was a military subject
of mid Joseon. His origin was Goryeong.
His Ja was Hyeong-baek and Hwi was Nanyeong.
He was born in 1575 under King Sunjo.
He was beheaded in Chung (a Chinese
nation). His tomb is in Doneuisil of
Maegok-ri Hobeop-myeon Icheon-si. He
became a prisoner in the war with Geum
(a Chinese nation) and worked hard for
good relations with the late Geum. In
Byeongjahoran (an invasion of Chung
(a Chinese nation)), he worked for the
armistice. Later, he received the posthumous
conferment of honors from the prime
minister of the Joseon dynasty. |

| Eom Yoo

| Eom Yoo Yoon was a son of Eom Wi.
His Ja was Wonsung. He was born in the
17th year of King Myeongjong (1562).
In the years of King Seonjo, he was
recommended to the General leader of
Seonryak (a government post) but he
did not take it. During the Japanese
Invasion of Korea in 1592, he led loyal
troops to Yeongreul of Great King Sejong.
He died on 17th May, 1636 by jumping
in to the Yeoju River during the Samildae
Battle as arrows were raining down.
After the settlement by a medical officer,
his funeral was conducted on an eastern
hill of Saokchon Gyeongsa-ri Baeksa-myeon.
After the death, he was honored to Tongjeongdaebuijochameui
(a government post) with Jeongryeomoon
in the 30th year (1893) of King Gojong.
His tradition has been known by generations
through Dorip-ri of Yukgaejung. |
